DASKA - The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala Region Zulfiqar Cheema has warned the police officials of stern action for sheltering criminals. He stated this while presiding over an important meeting of the senior police officials here on Monday. The RPO gave the special targets for curbing the menace of the crimes to all the Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and SHOs in Gujranwala Regions all the six Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin districts. He advised them to ensure the early arrest of the wanted POs, drug-pushers, gamblers and other criminals in their respective areas, besides, ensuring early closer of all the gambling spots and brothels. The RPO said that the gambling spots, narcotics selling points and the brothels were the main causes behind the larger scale social injustice and spreading of the crimes in the society, as this nasty situation also creates several other social and immoral problems. He directed the senior police officials to take effective steps to purge the society from the crime and the criminals in active cooperation with the people. Sialkot DPO Waqar Ahmad Chohan, senior member Sialkot District Peace Committee Zafar Malik and senior journalists were also present on this occasion. WORLD BLOOD DONORS DAY OBSERVED The people of the area, here Monday, participated in an Awareness-Raising Walk taken out by local NGO Young Blood Foundation Daska to mark the World Blood Donors Day. Chairman Bashir Ahmad Naz, President Tanveer Ahmad Mughal and General Secretary Haji Zahid Jehangir led the walk. The walk began from Fawara Chowk and ended at Civil Chowk after passing through all the main roads and markets. The participants were carrying the banners and placards. Addressing the participants, the speakers highlighted the hazards of the blood diseases and their preventive measures. Later, the NGO held a free medical camp, where the free blood and hepatitis tests of the hundreds of the people were conducted.
