ISLAMABAD Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Monday was informed that the utilisation of Parliamentarians funds would be monitored and in case of any embezzlement, the report on the matter would be sent to the Prime Minister. Chairing the Public Accounts Committee meeting Chaudhary Nisar said that the development funds should be issued timely for their utilisation, while asserting that misappropriation in the utilisation of funds by even one member could bring bad name to the entire Parliament. Reviewing the matter regarding Finance Ministry, the Committee also reached a consensus to write a letter to the Ministry for releasing grant of Rs 3.40 billion to Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. It was also decided that the copy of the letter be addressed to PM Secretariat. While discussing the alleged embezzlement of funds, PAC also directed to immediately put the name of Col (r) Khan Bhadar on the Exit Control List (ECL). It was also asked to field FIR against him because of his alleged involvement in the construction projects of University of Peshawar and Cadet College Swabi. The meeting reviewed audit observations on the accounts of Ministry of Water and Power, Ministry for Local Bodies and Rural Development, Atomic Energy Commission and others.
