PSB to hold seminar on doping

ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) will hold the first National Anti-Doping Seminar on June 17 here at a local hotel aiming to educate and create awareness among the organisers of its affiliated national sports federations. Giving details of the seminar, the spokesman for the PSB said that the PSB was committed to sensitise the awareness and education on anti-doping through effective value-based programs that could foster anti-doping behaviours and create a strong anti-doping culture among the athletes. In recognising the need to provide athletes and their support personnel with information into doping, the education and awareness of regulations in line with WADAs laws would be the focus of a range of lectures delivered by the experts, he said. Chairman ADOP Dr Waqar will present an overview of anti-doping in sports followed by lectures of Dr KA Pervez Rizvi on prohibited substance in sports, Dr Meesaq Husain Rizvi on Therapeutic use exception certificate and Dr Lubna Sibtain on doping control process in two marathon sessions. Federal Minister for Sports Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani will be the chief guest at the closing of the seminar.
