LALJORE - PML-N leader Senator Pervaiz Rashid, while commenting upon baseless allegations leveled by Punjab Governor against the Punjab government, has said the governor should have read the report of London School of Economics in which his political mentor Gen Musharraf has been termed as the tout of Taliban before mudslinging on others, says a handout. In a statement issued here on Monday Pervaiz Rashid reminded the governor was the same person who learnt different tactics from Gen Musharraf under the umbrella of dictatorship. He reminded Musharraf, during his dictatorial rule, had leveled all sorts of allegations including corruption and nepotism against PPP and its leader Benazir Bhutto. He said politically conscious people of the country were fully aware of the fact that the previous caretaker government and all federal ministers including Salman Taseer were a part of the conspiracy hatched by Musharraf to change the result of last general elections in his favour. Pervaiz Rashid asked why the governor was irritated by sasti roti scheme launched by the government in this period of price-hike? It would have been better for the governor to support the schemes like sasti roti in other provinces of the country also, he added. He said sasti roti scheme was a blessing for low income people and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had started this scheme with complete sincerity. He said time will prove that launching of this scheme was a wise step. He said those harping on the tune of roti, kapra aur makan, should not worry about the success of this scheme rather they should be thankful to the Punjab government, especially Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
