RAWALPINDI - Acting President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Syed Ali Raza Saeed has demanded of the government to establish office of National Commodity Exchange Limited (NCEL) in the city to provide a reliable to business community for trade. Traders are facing immense problems regarding shipment of gold thus NCEL would facilitate the traders in this regard. He said this while talking to the NCEL MD Sameer Ahmed during his visit to RCCI on Monday. Ali Raza said that NCEL was providing a reliable platform for the business community for trade. NCEL deals in gold, silver, rice, crude oil and palm oil, and is more secure and trustworthy as compared to other ways of shipment. Gold traders were facing immense problems regarding shipment of gold. Delivery of gold would be made possible in Rawalpindi for the local traders. Businessmen of the region are facing a large number of problems while receiving their consignments from Lahore and Karachi and the govt should take notice of this, he demanded. Speaking on the occasion, NCEL MD Sameer Ahmed said that RCCI was playing a pivotal role for the betterment of the traders and industrialists of the region. He said that NCEL and the RCCI would cooperate with each other and an MoU would be signed soon between the two organisations for the betterment of the businessmen community of the region. He said that NCEL would help local traders on priority basis and NCEL office would be established in the region at the earliest, he added. NCEL monthly turn over was from Rs50m to Rs60m and there were 70 countries on the panel of NCEL, he informed. He ensured full cooperation to the acting president RCCI saying No stone would be left unturned for the betterment on business community. NCEL former Director Hussain Ahmed Ozgun, RCCI VP Rashid Waien, Mian Pervaiz Aslam, Abdul Latif Khan, Abdul Qadoos and member of the RCCI were also present on the occasion.
