Welfare dept working for women uplift

LAHORE - Adviser to chief minister Punjab Zakia Shah Nawaz has said that Social Welfare Department is contributing a lot for the shelter and development of women. Addressing the participants of five-days training workshop for the Superintendents of Darul Amans organised by the Department of Social Welfare in Collaboration with an international organisation here on Monday, she said the inmates of Darul Amans should be imparted different skills so that they would be able to earn their livelihood after leaving the institution. Director General Social Welfare Dr Akhtar Nazir Waraich said the steps were to be taken to improve the existing condition of Darul Amans as directed by the chief minister Punjab. On the occasion, Principal Social Welfare Training Institute Hafiz Muhammad Akram thanked the chief guest and the participants. Officers of the department Mohammad Salman, Mohammad Shahid Rana, Zaibul Nisa, Shahina Butt, Nabila Ahmad and coordinator of MDM Rohi also participated in the inaugural ceremony of this five-day training workshop.
