HAFIZABAD -Administrator Muhammad Akram Bhatti visited the slaughterhouse following the public complaints regarding unhygienic conditions at slaughterhouse and slaughtering of sick animals without the approval of the Veterinary Officer. He was surprised to find that slaughtered animals meat was being stamped by a technician in the absence of Veterinary Officer. He submitted a report to the DCO to take departmental action against the Veterinary Officer. He also suspended absentee waterman posted in the slaughter house forthwith. Later, the Administrator visited the union council No-1, 2 and 6 and expressed his concern over the sanitary conditions prevailing in these areas and dismissed one sanitary worker while 8 others absent from duty were issued show cause notices. He directed the Sanitary Inspector to improve hygienic conditions in the localities.
