Transparency hallmark of govt: Shahbaz

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that provincial government has presented a balanced and welfare budget which was the best in the present circumstances. He said that solid measures have been taken in the budget for the welfare of the poor and uplift of education, health and other social sectors while unprecedented job opportunities have been created for the youth. He said that additional resources that would become available due to promotion of austerity and simplicity would be utilized on the welfare and betterment of the common man. He was addressing a meeting of Parliamentary Secretaries and Chairmen of Standing Committees at Punjab Assembly on Tuesday. Shahbaz Sharif said that the new budget reflects public aspirations and record funds of Rs 220 billion have been allocated in the budget for development projects. He said that transparency was the hallmark of Punjab government and transparent utilization of public money has been ensured.
