Speaking on the occasion, the federal minister claimed that the Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology (WIC) was a state-of-the-art project which not less than Agha Khan Hospital by any standard. Any attempt to sabotage the WIC will be resisted and foiled. We will complete the project with the assistance from the Federal government within six months if the Punjab government ignore it, he said. The PML-N has ignored three mega Project of Gujranwala Division which included Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, the WIC and Swedish Institute due to their rigid politics which were approved by the previous PML-Q Punjab government, he pointed out. Ch Wajahat argued that former Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi approval cardiology institutes for seven districts, having population of over 5 million. There is a little time between life and death for a heart patient as he requires prompt medical assistance. Therefore the previous Punjab government realised the problem and decided the construction of WIC, he elaborated. The PML-Q leader accused the Sharif brothers taking dictation from abroad and transferring their capital out of Pakistan. Ch Wajahat alleged that the Sharif brothers were in habit of fleeing the country but now people would not let them run abroad again. We saw the women baton charged by the police while queuing up taking Atta at Ramadan bazaars last and we pray Almighty Allah next month of Ramadan may not be like the previous, he said. He claimed that the PML-Q would bring the Punjab government in senses and would emerge a strong and formidable political force in future. Ch Wajahat pointed out that the employees of all the Punjab departments were on the roads, protesting for the restoration of their due rights. The situation reflects the inability and mismanagement of the PML-N government, he added.
