LAHORE : Punjab govt has made huge allocation for promotion of livestock sector in the budget for next fiscal year which is highly admirable. Chairman Punjab Halal Development Agency Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman said this while talking to APP here on Saturday. He said that the allocations of Rs 3800m for livestock reflects government’s clear vision and true understanding of economic problems of the country. Livestock sector can have a vital role in poverty alleviation and the budgetary allocations have truly reflected this vision of the government, he said. He said that the increased productivity of livestock sector can enable the country to lead the world on export of Halal products.
“Raw material for Halal products can be obtained from livestock which the country can provide to the entire world”, he said.
The government of Punjab has allocated a sum of Rs 3800 million for the livestock department in the annual fiscal budget 2014-15.
He also praised various incentives announced in the budget for Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board, Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company for the year 2014-15.
