islamabad - A police constable was injured yesterday when unknown persons opened fire on a police party patrolling on Expressway.
According to details, two Eagle Squad personnel including Head Constable Basharat were on a routine patrolling when they tried to stop two suspects on a bike on the Expressway. The suspects instead of stopping, opened fire as the police chased them.
Basharat got bullet injury while his colleague remained unhurt. The suspects left their bike on the spot and fled away. The police reached the spot and took the bike into custody. Further investigation is under way.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested five outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered four 30-bore pistols and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that Tarnol police arrested Yasir and recovered one 30-bore pistol from him while Shalimar police apprehended Ali Raza for having a 30-bore pistol. Similarly, Industrial Area police nabbed Khaqan for possessing a 30-bore pistol while another 30-bore pistol was recovered from Aamir Shah by Khanna police. Nilore police arrested one Ejaz and recovered looted items from him.
Meanwhile, 14 professional alms-seekers were also held from various areas of the city.
