SIALKOT-On the order of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the returning officer in Sialkot would carry out a search for 24 voting bags carrying the counter files of votes of NA 110 constituency on Wednesday.

The returning officer would open the bags of votes of two constituencies of Sialkot city (PP-122 and PP-123 Sialkot) to search the 24 bags of votes of Constituency (NA 110, Sialkot-I).

Returning Officer Khan Mehmood told the newsmen that these 24 bags were found missing during the re-verification of votes conducted by Nadra at Islamabad by on the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The SC had ordered r-verification of votes of constituency NA 110, Sialkot-I on the writ petition submitted by PTI’s losing candidate Usman Dar against the rigging by the PML-N’s winning candidate Khawaja Asif, federal minister for defence, water and power, during the 2013 general elections.

“Now, the concerned officials of Sialkot Election Commission, representatives of losing and winning candidates will open the bags of votes of two provincial assembly constituencies of Sialkot city to find out the missing bags of votes/ counter files of NA 110, Sialkot-I under the supervision of returning officer,” said PTI’s losing candidate Usman Dar.

He said that the practice would be made under the direct supervision of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) at District Accounts Office/Treasury Office on Wednesday.
