Police book 7 persons including lady health worker, gynaecologist in rape case

Rawalpindi   -  Jatli police have booked a man on charges of raping a 19-year-old girl and recording objectionable scenes on mobile phone, informed sources on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Hasnain, against whom a case under section 376/500 of PPC was registered on complaint of the father of the girl, sources said.

The police also included the mother and aunt of rapist, two other men, a lady health worker and gynecologist as co-accused for their alleged involvement in committing illegal abortion of the victim, they said. Police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused, sources said.

According to sources, Ahmed Khan, a resident of Mohra Hayyat, appeared before Police Station (PS) Jatli officials and lodged a complaint stating that he is a poor man having cattle and a land on lease to earn bread and butter for his family. He said his 19-year-old daughter went to a nearby shop to purchase groceries when Hasnain caught and dragged her to his house where he raped her. He alleged the rapist made a video of objectionable scenes in his mobile phone and threatened her daughter not to share her ordeal with anyone or else he would leak his obscene pictures in the village. He said mother and aunt of Hasnain came to his house after three months of occurrence of crime and took his daughter to their home where Nasir, Khalid and Hasnain had already arranged a lady health worker Rizwana and gynecologist, who came from Rawalpindi. “The gynecologist and the lady health worker on behest of Hasnain and other accused conducted abortion of my daughter,” the applicant mentioned. Later, Hasnain had shared the obscene picture of his daughter with the youth of the village who showed the pictures to the 12-year-old brother of the victim, he told police. Ahmed Khan also told police that the accused party is sending political figures of the area to his home to settle down the matter besides hurling threats of dire consequences at him and other family members. He appealed to police to register a case and to arrest the accused. Taking action, police lodged a case and began investigation, sources said.

Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas also took the notice of the incident and ordered SP Saddar Division Kamran Hameed to monitor the investigation of case.
