LAHORE Commissioner Lahore Division Nadeem Hussan has ordered crackdown against the manufacturing of substandard gas cylinders in order to avoid any mishap and save precious lives of citizens. He also warned the shopkeepers and filling station that case of murder would be registered against them in case they filled gas cylinders without confirming the quality causing any mishap or incident of cylinder blast claiming lives of citizens. The commissioner also constituted a seven member committee comprising of representatives of traffic police, civil defence, district government and OGRA, which would be headed by additional commissioner Usman Anwar. He also directed the DCO to make any mechanism for rechecking of cylinders after every six months and issuance of fitness certificates. He further directed the officials of Regional Transport Authority to check cylinder fitness certificates of rickshaws and other public transports.
