KARACHI - The PPP hawks in the Sindh Assembly on Monday again turned their guns on Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and dubbed him a product of Martial Law, who, they alleged was trying to create bad blood between Sindh and Punjab by criticising Sindhi cap and ajrak. MQM continued to boycott the proceedings of Sindh Assembly on Monday. Through identical privilege motions moved by Imran Zafar Leghari, Sharjeel Inam Memon and minority member Khurshid Khokhar, they condemned Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. The motion read:'Being the public representatives/members of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, we hereby move a privilege motion that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, has used derogatory remarks for the honorable members of the Sindh Assembly during a Press conference on March 13th, 2011 while further criticising the cultural attire of the people of Sindh reflecting his degrading and bitter attitude. Nisar has greatly hurt the sentiments of the people of Sindh. They denounced the comments of Ch. Nisar, who they said, called 'bouncers to those members of Sindh Assembly who had got passed a resolution against him on his petition against the appointment of Justice (Retd) Deedar Shah as Chairman NAB. They said that Ch Nisar by criticising Sindhi cap and ajrak had made attack on the civilisation and culture of Sindh which is condemnable. They accused the PML (N) of repeating 1990 politics by forming a 'Forward Bloc, thus encouraging 'lotacracy. Saleem Khurshid Khokhar said that Ch Nisar was fomenting hatred between Sindh and Punjab through such statements. A visible divide was witnessed among PPP benches as the seasoned and senior members preferred to keep quite on such issues but the hawks led by the new entrants Sharjeel Memon under the patronage of Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza dominated the saner members of the party. Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro referred the privilege motion to the House Committee of Rules of Proceedings and Privilege. The House which was set in motion by Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro at 10.50 am completed its Parliamentary year. The House unanimously passed a resolution tabled by Shazia Marri, the Minister for Electric Power, which read: 'The Assembly of Sindh expressed its deep sorrow on devastating Earthquake and Tsunami that caused mass scale destruction in Japan and extended its deepest sympathies to the people of Japan who were currently experiencing the grave catastrophe since World War II. The SA expressed its condolences to the families of the thousands who lost their lives and to the Japanese nation and said that the overwhelming calamity currently faced by Japan having experienced the catastrophic earthquake of 2005 by the Pakistani nation. It appreciated the support extended to Japan by the international community including the President of Pakistan and assured the people of Japan of the continued utmost support of the Pakistani nation during this time of acute crisis. The House passed a unanimous resolution moved by minority member Saleem Khurshid Khokhar to recommend the Government of Sindh to request the Federal Government for nomination of recently assassinated Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti for world Nobel Prize. Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro introduced The Government Bill No-07 of 2011 'The Shahdadpur Institute of Medical Sciences in the House. Later the session was prorogued and sine die on the order of Sindh Governor.
