Pakistan High Commissioner called back from India: FO

Pakistan has called back its High Commissioner from India, stated the Spokesperson of Foreign Office Dr Muhammad Faisal.

FO Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal, in it’s weekly press briefing highlighted the harassment with Pakistani diplomats in India and said, “Pakistan High Commissioner Sohail Mahmood, has been called back from New Delhi by Federal government.”

Dr Faisal further said, “FO will hold consultation related to harassment cases with Pakistani diplomats in India with PHC."

“As Indian government did not take any steps to safeguard Pakistani diplomats and their families in India, Pakistani government has also lodged protests over the matter with the Indian deputy high commissioner as well as India’s External Affairs Ministry,” stated the Spokesperson.

Pakistan on Tuesday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh and a strong protest was lodged at the maltreatment being meted out to the officials and their families of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.
