I take this opportunity to request all your readers in particulars and the people of Pakistan in general to demand from the newly elected government to nominate Mr. Abdul Sattar Edhi, the great social worker, for the next Noble Peace Prize. Successive governments have failed to acknowledge or recognise the great humanitarian services rendered by this selfless person and his family since the very inception of Pakistan. Instead, several attempts were made to hamper, curtail, nullify and even fail and finish-off his mission by all the vested interests and some governments of the day were also involved in those dirty tricks. At a time when the whole world is in the grip of Islamophobia, we need to introduce the benevolent face of Islam and its followers. -MOHAMED YAHYA KASIM, Houston. Texas, USA, via e-mail, April 28.
