Many letters keep appearing on the subject of poverty and hunger. One cannot talk of poverty and hunger without taking into account the negative growth in industry and agriculture. These are the two sectors which can provide jobs to the poor people of the country and alleviate their poverty. Industry needs massive input of power and agriculture needs massive input of water. This can be possible only by building mega dams in the shortest period. I am surprised that the learned readers totally ignore this vital aspect of the problems facing the country.
