LAHORE - Major solo paintings exhibition of well-known artist Mashkoor Raza kicked off at the Revivers Galleria in Gulberg on Monday.Punjab Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. He cut the ribbon to inaugurate the art show and then took a round along with artist Mashkoor Raza, art critic Nadeem Zuberi, Sara Anjum and other guests and highly appreciated the exhibits on display. He felicitated the artist for such impressive art work and the curator and owner of the Revivers Galleria for organizing the solo exhibition of the well-known artist.On display in the exhibition are 50 paintings of Karachi-based artist who had specially flown in Lahore and was present during inauguration of the exhibition interacted with the fellow artists, art lovers and art collectors and responded to their queries. Paintings exhibition titled “Journey” is the second solo exhibition of Mashkoor Raza being held at the Revivers Galleria in less than five months time. His first solo art show was held in January last and it was titled “Journey of Colours”. Mashkoor Raza has been paintings for several years and has number of solo and group exhibitions within Pakistan and in various foreign countries to his credit. On this occasion, besides inauguration of the solo art show, a book written by known art critic Nadeem Zuberi on and about the artist and his creative works “Mashkoor Raza’s Journey” was also launched. Curator of the Revivers Galleria Sara Anjum said that the displayed paintings were done in oil on canvas, which the artist had created during recent years. She said that that the exhibition would continue for a fortnight closing on the evening of May 27. She thanked the artists, art collectors and the art lovers from different walks of life for turning up in such large number to view and appreciate the bright colours and sharp brush strokes of Mashkoor Raza.
