KARACHI – Scores of activists of the Palestine Foundation (PLF) Pakistan and students organisations on Monday rallied on city roads condemning the illegitimate proclamation Israel made on its 64th anniversary.

Canting slogans against the US and Israel, the enraged demonstrators set fire to flags of the United States, United Kingdom and Israel.

The rally, which culminated outside the Karachi Press Club, was headed by PLF spokesman Sabir Karbalai, Faisal Sheikh of the People’s Students’ Federation, Hafiz Mohammad Bilal of the Islami Jamiat Talba, Abdul Basit of the Anjuman Talba-e-Islam, Bakhtawar Shah of the Pakhtun Students’ Federation, Alamgir Khan of the Insaf Students’ Federation and Palestinian students’ representative Fadal Mohammad.

They said the Zionist regime imposed Nakba (catastrophe) on the Palestinians, besides subjecting them to pogrom making them to leave their homeland on May 15.

They said it was not possible to deny the Palestinians their right to their ancestral land.

The speakers said, “Palestine was home to the Palestinians. So, its usurpation by the Zionists has to be reversed.” They said it was obligatory for the international community to voice support for the oppressed nation.

They also alleged that the Jewish regime and the US had involvement in terror attacks in Pakistan, besides the political, moral and social breakdowns in the country.

They said that defence of Palestine had become defence of Pakistan.

They alleged that Israeli spies had launched a covert war to destabilise Pakistan. They urged all the Pakistanis to get united against the enemies of Pakistan and Palestine.
