The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday requested the LHC chief justice to form a larger bench for hearing the petition for restricting Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani from approving the upcoming budget. Accepting petition filed by AK Dogar for stopping PM from approving budget,  Justice Umar Ata Bandial of LHC conducted the hearing of the petition. The petitioner’s counsel AK Dogar told the court that Yusuf Raza Gilani could not approve the budget after conviction on April 26, in the contempt of court case. He also stated that under the constitution, a convicted member of parliament could not approve budget of the county as this situation will create new constitutional crisis. Justice Umar Ata Bandial said as the matter is sensitive, the bench will request to the LHC Chief Justice to form a larger bench to hear the petition. The court also directed to combine all the writ petitions filed in LHC against the prime minister.
