LAHORE – Paramedics continued protest on Monday to press for the demands of revised service structure and regularization of adhoc employees.Dozens of paramedics took out a rally from the Jinnah Hospital and staged a sit-in outside the health facility. They raised slogans against the Punjab government for not paying heed to their demands including service structures, regularization of contract and daily wages employees and health professional allowance.Addressing the gathering, the Punjab Paramedics Alliance chairman Malik Munir said the Punjab chief minister had promised on May 12 of last year of bringing the paramedics of all state-run hospitals under a service structure. He said promise was made during 37-day long agitation of both the young doctors and the paramedics. However, the bureaucracy dropped the case of lower cadre employees and constituted a committee a week ago to formulate service structure for doctors only.
