ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has lifted the ban imposed on Pakistan No 1 squash player Aamir Atlas Khan and Yasir Butt with immediate effect.

The decision was taken in the 33rd Executive Committee meeting especially called on to discuss ban issue of Aamir Atlas, Yasir Butt and the boycott of Punjab and Sindh players from the recently concluded Junior Squash Championship in Peshawar. The meeting was held under the chair of PSF senior vice president Air Vice Marshall Syed Razi Nawab while PSF vice presidents Qamar Zaman and Malik Amjed Ali Noon, secretary Abdul Wahab Marwat and the representatives of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were also present during the meeting held here on Monday.

Aamir and Yasir were asked to appear before the committee members to seek their point of view on their tendering of apology vie email to the PSF president Air Chief Marshall Tahir Rafiq Butt. Both the players accepted their mistake and promised not to repeat such mistakes in future. On their verbal request, PSF SVP Razi Nawab with the consent of the PSF president and on the approval of the members the house, accepted the apology of both the players and lifted the ban imposed on them with immediate effect. The meeting also took strong notice of Punjab and Sindh players’ withdrawal from Peshawar Junior event. Punjab and Sindh Squash Associations representatives accepted their mistake and promised not to repeat such thing in future. On their complete assurance, the house accepted their apology and decided not to take any further action.
