OKARA - Hundreds of people, mainly traders and shopkeepers protested against unscheduled loadshedding from 19 to 21 hours in the city and levy of fuel adjustment charges here the other day.

The protesters blocked GT Road by burning tyres near railway-crossing. They also blocked the main road for sometime which created great difficulties for the commuters. They were carrying placards and banners and chanted slogans against the rulers and the Lesco officials.

The said that they might come on roads to raise voice against the tormenting situation.

Dacoits sweep private clinic: A band of dacoits snatched cash, cellphones and other valuables from the staff and owner of a private clinic situated in Seith Colony here the other day. According to police sources, dacoits forced entry into the clinic of LHV Rukhsana. They bound the clinic owner and her staff hand and foot and snatched gold ornaments, cash and cellphones from them.

The police have registered a case against unknown culprits.
