Light showers, breeze cool down political heat

LAHORE - The City received rain on Tuesday with experts predicting mainly hot and dry weather and dust raising winds during the next 24 hours.
Strong winds started blowing in the wee hours that followed by showers, making weather pleasant in the morning by causing considerable decrease in the mercury level.
People came out of their houses in the evening to enjoy somewhat pleasant conditions. Major parks and picnic spots attracted a large number of people including women and children. Huge rush was witnessed at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Jilani Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Jallo Park, Lahore Zoo and other picnic spots in the City. Traffic jams were witnessed on roads in the close vicinity of these picnic spots.
On Tuesday, maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 35 degree Celsius and 22 C respectively. Relative humidity in the in the evening was recorded 33 per cent.
According to the experts, low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas. A westerly trough is also prevailing over Kashmir and its adjoining areas.
Local meteorological department has forecasted hot & dry weather for most parts of the country. However rain/ thundershower is expected at few places of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Dust raising winds are likely to blow in plains of Punjab and Sindh.
On Sunday, maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 33 degree Celsius and 21 C respectively. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded 58 per cent which decreased to 47 per cent in the evening.
