LAHORE  - Two motorcyclists stopped a car-rider in Gulberg, held him up at gunpoint, and snatched away two million rupees, police sources claimed on Wednesday.
Investigators say the car-rider, identified as Naveed, was coming back after withdrawing Rs2 million from a bank when two motorcyclists intercepted him. The bandits snatched the cash and fled away on their two-wheeler without facing any resistance. Police reached the spot when the robbers had escaped.
In another incident, two motorcyclists held up Aziz and his relative in Iqbal Town and snatched away Rs886,000 at gunpoint. The bandits shot at and wounded Naeem as he tried to put up resistance against the road robbery.
Two gunmen riding on a motorcycle held up a couple at gunpoint in Race Course. The couple was deprived of cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables worth Rs427,000.
Robbers equipped with pistols and riding on motorcycles also committed road robberies in Johar Town, Shahdara, Sanda, Millat Park, Islampura, Baghbanpura, Batapur, Liaqatabad and Nawan Kot police precincts.
Police sources further said that five cars and eight motorcycles were also stolen away from different parts of the provincial metropolis on Wednesday.
