Mepco sends 11 officials home

MULTAN-The Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) authorities have suspended 11 line superintendents on charges of negligence and poor performance.
The suspended line superintendents have been directed to report the Multan circle. Mepco sources said that the suspended line superintendents include: LS-1 Bosan Road Naved Ahmad, LS-11 Bosan Road Rao Muhammad Akram, LS-1 Shujabad Naseem Abbas, LS-11 Jalalapur Pirwala Haji Khuda Bukhsh, LS-1 Kabirwala Rashid Sarwar, LS-1 Sarai Sidhu Faraz Ahsan, LS-11 Khanewal Arshad Iqbal, LS-11 Jahanian Asif Hussain, LS-1 Jahanian Muhammad Rashid, LS-11 Alipur Sadat Ghulam Razzaq and LS-11 Alipur Sadat Siddiq Afzal.
TEAM FORMED TO PROBE MURDER: A special team led by a DIG rank officer has been constituted by the Punjab police to investigate the murder of slain lawyer and human rights activist Rashid Rehman. The team is constituted on the directive of Chief Minister Punjab and he will personally monitor the performance of the team.
Rashid Rehman Khan was killed by two unidentified armed men in his office on May 7. He was pursuing the case of a blasphemy accused Junaid Hafeez and had received life threats from unidentified persons. The team is led by DIG Ali Amir Malik, who visited Multan and talked to the bereaved family besides gathering information from police officials working on this case. The team is likely to submit its report to the IG office very soon.
