Quetta: A man severely injured two Christian girls in Quetta today when he threw acid on them in the city's Kasi road.

28-year-old Rimsha Masih and 16-year-old Hinah Masih, were sprayed with acid, Capital City Police Officer Quetta, Razzaq Cheema confirmed.

Through a syringe, the accused sprayed acid on the faces of both the women, police said.

“The injured have nominated Vijay Masih, a Christian man, for the crime,” Cheema said. Vijay is a resident of Brewery Road and belongs to the Christian community.

The women were transported to Lady Hospital near the crime scene and were later shifted to Provincial Sandeman Hospital. Due to inadequate facilities they were then taken to the Bolan Medical College Teaching Hospital.

At the hospital, the doctors confirmed that they are receiving medical treatment.

"The girls were admitted in the burns ward of BMC," said Dr Masood Nowsherwani.

"Rimsha's face was 30 per cent affected whereas 15 per cent of Hina's face was burnt in the attack," Nowsherwani added.
