LAHORE – Ahmed’s match-winning knock of 108 helped Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) record a crushing eight-wicket win over Government Emerson College (GEC), Multan in the opening clash of the second round of the Red Bull Campus (RBC) Cricket 2015 fourth edition. Batting first at their home venue, GEC posted a fighting score of 150-6 in the allotted 20 overs. Islamia University Bahawalpur bowlers bowled admirably to restrict their rivals to a gettable score. Hasan Raza scored 70 for the host team while Waqas took three wickets. In reply, man of the match and opening batsman Ahmed smashed a magnificent 108 off only 57 balls. His innings made the match one-sided with IUB romping home for the loss of just two wickets. Ahmed stroked five sixes and nine fours in his memorable century for the winning team as the chase was duly completed in a mere 16.5 overs.
