Lahore - The Ferozepur Road Welfare Industrial Organization (FRWO) has urged the Punjab government to declare Ferozepur Road Industrial Area as “Industrial Estate”.
The demand was raised by the FRWO Chairman Adeeb Iqbal Sheikh while addressing a reception ceremony held in honour of the newly-appointed advisor to Punjab CM Nasir Saeed. PML-N Lahore president Pervaiz Malik, Anjum Maqsood Butt, Bao Bashir, Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Tariq Javed Fiazi, Manzoor Elahi Taj, Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, Shafiq Butt, Mian Abdul Razzaq and Sheikh Tariq also attended the reception.
Addressing the reception, Adeeb Iqbal Sheikh informed that Ferozepure Road Industrial area has more than 300 industrial units and trading houses catering to the needs of over one hundred and fifty thousands of people directly or indirectly but due to non-availability of fundamental facilities, the industrialists were facing multiple problems. He said that law and order situation was also not encouraging.
The FRWO Chairman also sought the help of PML-N leadership as well as the newly-appointed advisor Nasir Saeed for early operation of Rescue 1122 in the area to avert any untoward incident in the industrial units operational in the area as the building has already been completed.
Adeeb Iqbal complained that both the provincial and the district governments had neglected the area and no development work was carried out here. Speaking on the occasion, Nasir Saeed said that Punjab government was quite conscious of the problems of the business community and was putting in its best efforts for their early solution.
Nasir Saeed said that the government understands well that the acute energy shortage had hit the entire industrial sector and it is working on a bailout package to the industry besides a cut in markup rate that was too high and has no parallel in the developed world.
He appreciated that that existing industrial estates, despite facing various challenges, are making a sizeable contribution to the Pakistan’s economy.
