Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged walkout from National Assembly session over policy statement of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Tuesday said the statement of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Mumbai attacks was “sheer misreporting” by Indian media and those using it for political gains were, in fact, putting the national security at stake.

The PM said the meeting of National Security Committee was convened yesterday to “condemn the impression created by misreporting of the interview.”

PTI’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that why Nawaz Sharif rejected policy statement of National Security Committee meeting if it was called to discuss the situation created by media.

Ijaz Jakharni said that Shah Memhood Qureshi has raised a valid point adding what’s status of National Security Committee meeting when Nawaz Sharif is sticking on his statement.

Later, the opposition parties staged walked out from the house.

While earlier today, former premier Nawaz Sharif turned down the statement released by National Security Committee (NSC) yesterday in the aftermath of his controversial remarks about the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Nawaz said this while speaking to journalists outside accountability court. He maintained that NSC’s declaration was not based upon facts and the related situation.
