KARACHI-sindh Inspector General Police Allah Dino Khawaja reviewed security plan for upcoming holy month of Ramazan, expected to be started from Thursday. Police decided that 55,702 cops would perform the security duties across the province.

He was presiding over a meeting at Central Police Office on Monday. Additional IG Karachi, DIGs for Hyderabad, Sukkar, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Special Branch, Criminal Investigations, Headquarters and Administration.

The IGP has ordered foolproof security mechanism ahead of Ramazan. According to a report prepared by Additional IG Karachi Mushtaq Mahar and submitted to a meeting, more than 26,780 police officials and personnel will perform security duties to nearly 4,215 mosques places for Namaz-e-Taraveeh and Mehfil-e-Shabina during Ramazan in all three zones of Karachi police including South, West and East.

The police officials and personnel will also conduct snap checking on 500 police mobile units and motorcycle squads. The report further stated that 19400 police officials and personnel will be from the Karachi police range while 7380 will from the Traffic police.

According to a DIG Hyderabad’s report, over 1162 police officials and personnel will perform the security duties at the 2108 mosques and places for Namaz-e-Taraveeh and Mehfil-e-Shabina during the holy month of Ramazan while 216 police mobile units and 169 motorcycle squads will also conduct the snap checking. According to a DIG Mirpurkhas report, over 6106 police officials and personnel will perform the security duties at the 660 Masajids and places for Namaz-e-Taraveeh and Mehfil-e-Shabina during the holy month of Ramadan.  According to a DIG Shaheed Benazirabad, over 4,504 cops will perform the security duties at the 1542 mosques and places for Namaz-e-Taraveeh and Mehfil-e-Shabina during the holy month of Ramadan. According to a DIG Sukkur, over 3,661 police officials will perform the security duties at the 605 mosques and places for Namaz-e-Taraveeh and Mehfil-e-Shabina during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to a DIG Larkana, over 10,453 cops will perform the security duties at the 947 mosques and places for Namaz-e-Taraveeh and Mehfil-e-Shabina during the holy month of Ramadan while 230 police mobile units and 219 motorcycle squads will also conduct snap checking.
