Mother of five clubbed to death by spouse

SADIQABAD - A man along with his brother allegedly clubbed his wife to death for honour in village Bahadarpur. On the complaint of Naseems brother Ameer Hussain, the police have registered a case against Farman Ali and his brother. In the complaint, Ameer told the police that Farman married his sister 15 years ago and he has five children by the marriage. A week ago, he added, his sister came to his house and complained that her husband used to thrash her as he had been suspecting her of having illicit relations with someone. In reaction, the complainant tried to dispel the wrong impression from the accuseds mind. However, on the day of the murder, Ameer received a phone call from the accused that the latter has murdered the formers sister. When he reached his brother-in-laws house, he found dead body of his sister lying on a bed. He alleged that Farman and his brother had killed his sister by repeatedly striking her with club and stick while the accused are still at large. PLAINTIFFS URGED TO HELP END CORRUPTION: The newly-appointed circle officer of anti-corruption has said that immediate arrest of the accused persons facing judicial action is top priority, urging the plaintiffs to cooperate with the police to arrest the accused. While talking to the media, Mehar Nazar Hussain said that inappropriate strength of personnel in the anti-corruption police station was the reason behind delay in the arrests of the accused. He was of the view that corrupt police officials are cancer of the society and they should be put behind bars. He said the he was making an all-out effort to put the accused booked in the anti-corruption police station behind bars at the earliest so that the society could be purged of corruption and kickbacks. He said that minimum three accused must be arrested in a week, adding that he was making efforts to meet the target as he was sent in the district with a special task. He disclosed that he had apprehended two accused wanted in four cases and they would be challaned after recovery from them. It is worth mentioning that the circle officer talked to the media a day after a former Punjab minister for revenue hurled threats at a social worker for getting a case registered against the former for allegedly plundering development funds in tehsil Sadiqabad, and urging the petitioner to withdraw the case.
