In the past few months there have been repeated incidents of what surely is deliberate excessive consumption reading for calculating the monthly electricity bill. After several visits to the local LESCO office, the Head assured us that this would not happen and even gave oral instructions to prevent such daylight robbery, but it appears to have had no effect. In our last visit to the LESCO office, typically ineffective as it was, we met several other Phase 5 residents with exactly the same complaint. Since all official avenues seem to be accomplices in this 'legal; scheme to defraud the customer, it appears we will have to seek legal redress which may include claiming reimbursement of the estimated amount collected by this robbery by LESCO. We would welcome ideas from your readers and also encourage them to monitor their electricity meters carefully to expose LESCOs tricks. Wasif M Khan and Dr Haroon Babri Lahore
