LAHORE – Aviation reporters of Lahore have protested on being ignored by PIA management for a tour to Saudi Arabia as the airline has, for second time, selected Karachi journalists for the tour.
A meeting in this regard was held at Lahore Press Club on Wednesday. Participants of the meeting condemned this act of Managing Director PIA, Capt. Junaid Younis and said that if MD did not review his decision and took reporters of Lahore into confidence they would be forced to boycott the functions of the airline in future. They were of the view that since purpose of tour was to inform the reporters about the arrangements made by PIA for post-haj operation at Jeddah and other airports of Saudi Arabia, so journalists from Lahore have equal right to know the same. Meeting was attended by President Lahore Press Club, Arshad Ansari, Amraiz Khan from The Nation, Zulqernain Tahir from Dawn, Moyad Jaffery from The News, Khawaja Farrukh Saeed from Nawa-i-Waqt, Anwar Hussain Sumra from Express Tribune, Saleem Sheikh from Dunya TV, Zahid Ali Khan from Jang, Mazhar Iqbal from ARY news and others.
