Former minister laid to rest

ATTOCK - A veteran politician and former minister Malik Muhammad Aslam, who died of cardiac arrest, was laid to rest here at his native village in Shamsabad on Thursday.
He was the father of former state minister Malik Muhammad Amin Aslam. A large number of people from various parts of the Attock district and other locations of the country, including State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, former federal minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Senator Hakmeen Khan, former minister Mansoor Hayat Taman, MPA Shahwaiz Khan, MPA Syed Ejaz Hussain Bukhari, MNA Zain Elahi, Major Tahir Sadiq and Chairman Communist Party Engineer Jameel Malik, attended his funeral prayer.  Malik Aslam for the first time was elected Vice Chairman District Council Attock in 1964, got elected MNA in 1985 and 1988 and was elected MPA 1977.
Staff reporter from Nowshera Virkan adds: PML-N leader Zahid Ali Khan has died in a road accident. He was on his way to Lahore from Nowshera Virkan. While crossing a bridge near motorway, his vehicle rammed into a bus and he died on the spot. He was a prominent personality of the city. A large number of people including elected representatives, politicians, journalists and common public attended his funeral. He was laid to rest at a local graveyard.
