The right to self rule

Kashmir issue is a real test for International powers and stakeholders including the United Nations, who talk of peace, stability and democratic rights, to put their words into action. India has applied nefarious opposition to suppress the Kashmir’s legitimate right of self-determination but has failed to break the will of the Kashmir people. India claims to be the largest democracy but it does not allow the Kashmir’s to have an independent referendum. The UN, along with the use their example of Great Britain which held an independent referendum in Scotland as demanded by the people. The UN should play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue according to the UN resolutions and force India to allow Kashmir to hold independent referendum just as UK did in Scotland.
