LOS ANGELES-Marion Cotillard has praised her Allied co-star Brad Pitt, calling him an “amazing actor, and a “good person”.

The Ocean’s Eleven actor has been through a tumultuous period following the announcement of his divorce from wife Angelina Jolie, and news that the FBI were investigating him for alleged child abuse. Marion was also implicated in the pair’s marriage troubles, but took to Instagram in September (16) to refute rumours she was involved in their break-up. Despite the drama surrounding the film’s release, Marion, who is in a relationship with French actor Guillaume Canet, did not hesitate to pay tribute to her Allied co-star at a Los Angeles junket for the film on Friday.

“(Brad is) such a good man,” the 41-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight. “Of course he’s an amazing actor. He’s such a good person that it’s really not difficult to get along with him.”

Marion explained that meeting Brad during rehearsals for the Robert Zemeckis-directed World War II thriller, which tells the story of two assassins who fall in love during a mission to kill a German official, helped to establish their onscreen chemistry - something that doesn’t always comes easily.

“Sometimes, you never know,” explained the actress, who has also worked with Hollywood leading men including Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio. “Sometimes, you have nothing in common, no chemistry, and it still works on screen. You have many different situations, but we had this chance to have this period of time to get along together, so it helps.”

The actress, who is pregnant with her second child with Guillaume, admitted she gets nervous starting work on a new film, comparing it to falling in and out of love.

“It’s a new beginning each time, like a love story. You’re in love with someone, and you spend 10 years together, and the relationship ends,” she confided. “The next relationship, (in) the beginning, you will be like a newcomer in the love story world. So with the character, it’s exactly the same.”
