LALAMUSA-The Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Thutha Rai Bahader was upgraded years back but still it lacks the basic facilities and teaching staff while all the posts of subject specialists are lying vacant.
The upgradation was aimed to provide maximum higher education facilities for the rural girls of the under-developed area and to facilitate the less resourceful parents who could neither send their daughters to far-off colleges nor could afford educational expenses of private colleges.
Local rural populace has apprehensions regarding paucity of teaching staff at the institution as according to them, proper education is not being imparted to the students since all the posts of subject specialists are lying vacant.
Intermediate classes are being taken by the teachers inducted for middle and matric classes. Further, their own classes are also being affected due to additional burden on them. The School is also running without the principal ever since its up-gradation which has resulted in maladministration and educational problems. The people appealed to the chief minister of Punjab that relevant authorities be instructed to provide proper teaching staff/subject specialists for intermediate classes and the principal be posted in the school to manage the affairs of school on professional grounds.
