LAHORE - Maryam Nawaz Sharif tweeted yesterday that new standards of justice had been set for former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif (who was disqualified to hold membership of the parliament by the Supreme Court in Panama case).
Following reservation of the judgment by the SC on the petition against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, “No hurry for anyone else”.
“Every speed was for Nawaz Sharif,” she said in a veiled reference to the court decision against her father and the current trial before the Accountability Court against Sharifs. She said new rules were framed for Nawaz Sharif and his family members. “No question and answer for others. If anyone is absconders no question where he has been over the (last) two years,” she tweeted alluding to the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf wherein he has been declared absconder but enjoying life abroad after given bail by the court.
With reference to case of Imran Khan, she said, case against Khan is more serious than ‘Panama Mazaq’ in relation to legal complexities. “The nation is waiting for the decision in that case,” Maryam added.
