TOBA TEK SINGH-The police registered a case on Tuesday against Gojra MC chairman Mian Muhammad Islam, encroachment inspector Suleman Khan and six other employees on charge of demolishing a portion of a house and torturing its owner.

Adnan Anwar, resident of Khalid Colony, filed suit in the Gojra Additional District and Sessions judge Nazir Ahmad, stating that he had built his house in the Khalid Colony, Gojra in 1998 after getting approved its map from the Municipal Corporation. But the sitting MC chairman ordered demolition of a portion of the house unlawfully, declaring it as illegal. Upon which a seven members team of the MC, led by encroachment inspector Suleman Khan, razed a portion of his house a couple of weeks ago due to which he faced great financial loss. He informed the court that the officials also took him with them forcibly to MC office where they allegedly tortured him and also kept him in illegal confinement.

After hearing the case, the court ordered the police to register a case against the MC chairman and other.

In compliance with the court orders, the Gojra City Police registered a case.
