Intra-districts thieves gang busted

OKARA: The district police claimed to have busted a criminal gang involved in the theft of PTCL wires across Punjab province including Okara. Talking to the media here on Tuesday, DPO Hassan Asad Alvi that a police team led by Saddr circle DSP Ziaul Haq traced and bust the gang by arresting its six members. The criminals identified as Muhammad Hussain; Allah Ditta; Yaseen; Abbas; Ali Sher and Ali Hassan had been involved in the theft of PTCL wire in Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Sahiwal, Lahore and Okara districts. The DPO informed that a huge quantity of wire worth Rs3 million has been recovered from the accused and further recovery is expected. Two of the outlaws - Ali Sher and Ali Hassan have been sent to Okara Jail while their four accomplices namely Qadir, Shahzad, Kaly Khan and Sunny are still at large. Mr Alvi pledged that the police would spare no effort to bring all the accused to the book and end their criminal activities.–Staff Reporter

One dies, two injured in welding plant explosion

TOBA TEK SINGH: A shopkeeper died and two others sustained injuries when a gas welding plant exploded here in Rajana on Tuesday. The police informed that deceased Muhammad Naqash was busy with welding work in his shop located on Samundri Road. All of sudden the welding plant exploded with a big bang due to gas leakage. As a result he died instantly while his brother Shafqat Mehmood and a passerby child namely Umair got injured. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to Toba DHQ Hospital where doctors referred Shafqat to Faisalabad Allied hospital due to his critical condition.–Staff Reporter

Landlord kidnapped, murdered by rivals

SAHIWAL: A landlord was murdered by rivals over an old enmity at Ahmad Bhagela village here the other night. According to police, there was an enmity between Saeed Bhagela and Ramzan. The other night, Ramazan along with three suspects including Bahawal Sher, Ahmed Yar and Abbas abducted Saeed Bhagela and killed him. Harappa Police registered a case on the complaint of the deceased's son. Investigation was underway.–Staff Reporter

Four of dacoit gang busted

GUJRANWALA: CIA police claimed to have arrested four members of a dacoit gang and recovered cash and illegal arms from their possession on Tuesday. According to DSP CIA Imran Abbas Chadhar, Ali Gadi gang was involved in dozens of dacoity and robbery incidents. He said a police part yesterday held four accused including Ali Ashraf Gadi, Khalid Jamil, Munawar and Fayyaz and recovered Rs8 million and illegal arms from them. The accused confessed to have conduct robberies in Peoples Colony, Satellite Town, Jinnah Road, Ghakkar Mandi and other areas, the DSP added.–Staff Reporter

Man booked for hurling threats to lawyer

OKARA: A man was booked for hurling threats to a senior lawyer for being counsel for his rivals. According to police sources, senior lawyer Shakeel Aslam Ch is the counsel for a party in a case 552/17 u/s 452, 354 registered by the Okara Saddr. One Qasim, from the rival party allegedly had visited chamber of the lawyer despite repeated warning not to enter the chamber. Qasim, however, called the lawyer on his cellphone, threatening him with dire consequences for pursuing the case including kidnapping of the advocate’s children. –Staff Reporter
