LAHORE-Shoaib Mansoor’s much awaited film ‘Verna’ which was all set to release on 17th November 2017 has been banned by Central Board of Film Censors.

Due to Non-issue of Censor Certificate by Lahore Censor Board Verna’s premiere at Lahore has also been cancelled.

After super hit film Bol, Shoaib Mansoor was returning to Pakistan film industry with another expected blockbuster Verna.

The film is highlighting real issues of Pakistan. Mahira Khan plays a rape victim survivor in the movie and she seeks justice to quench her thirst for retribution from a corrupt system.

The trailer suggests that the film implicates politicians and other influential people in the cover-up of the rape that occurs. The film stars Mahira Khan and Haroon Shahid. According to Shoaib Mansoor’s official press statement, the director has appealed to the CBFC for the urgent relief of Verna. The film is expected to be reviewed by the full board.
