PTI’s Waleed Iqbal and Seemi Azidi have won the Senate seats from Punjab on which by-election were held on Thursday.
Waleed Iqbal won on a general seat and Seemi Aizdi emerged winner on a reserved seat for women.
The seats fell vacant after the de-notification of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz members, Saadia Abbasi and Haroon Akhtar, for possessing dual nationality.
The PTI members were contesting against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Saud Majeed and Saira Afzal Tarar.
A total of 358 votes were cast in the by-election. Iqbal won with 184 votes, while Majeed secured 176 votes. Meanwhile, Aizdi was able to get 183 votes while Tarar got 175 votes.
Polling for the vacant Senate seats commenced at the Punjab Assembly building in Lahore at 9am and concluded at 4pm.
