ISLAMABAD - The administration of Saudi Pak Tower is all set to counter any untoward incident, be it a suicidal attack or bomb blast, TheNation learnt here on Tuesday. "We have adopted foolproof measures to counter any terrorist attack or untoward incident", said Security Incharge of the Tower Major Saeed, while talking to TheNation, adding that the security set-up of Saudi Power Tower has the tendency to foil any malicious attempt by the terrorists. Giving details of the enhanced security measures that have been adopted both within and outside the Tower, Major Saeed told that currently, two gates out of total number of four gates are workable in the wake of security threats. Vehicles are not allowed to enter the building without entry stickers that have been issued by the security section of Saudi Pak Tower, he added. "Eight guards are deputed at two gates that are highly trained and skilful, equipped with sophisticated weapons", he claimed adding that each and every incumbent is being monitored with proper surveillance and scrutiny. Talking about the security steps that have been taken inside the Tower, Major argued that walk-through gates, metal detectors, X-ray machines and armed guards are deputed inside the building to ensure fool proof security. "The Saudi Pak Tower is perhaps the only high-rise building in the twin cities with latest security features. 30 security personnel keep a close vigil inside the building while 8 guards are deployed at the two outer gates and 15 guards remain on duty at night" he claimed while asserting that these are the most tightened security measures adopted  by the security management of any building in the Capital. In response to a query regarding the steps taken by the Tower's management to foil a suicidal attempt, the Security Incharge informed that four road blockers would be installed at all the four gates soon. "The road blockers are capable enough to tackle any such terrorist misadventure", he said adding that it would take around next 45 days for the road barriers to get installed. Addressing the security concerns of the foreigners that are working in the Tower, Saeed dismissed the chances of any security lapse. "Let me tell you, our security set-up is based on international standards, the latest security measures that we have taken support the fact that the security of Saudi Pak Tower lies in safe and secure hands". However, some personnel of the foreign multinational companies with their offices inside the Tower talked to TheNation about the current security crises. A Chinese engineer wishing anonymity told that the security measures that have been taken by Tower's administration so far are satisfactory but security needs to be beefed up at outer gates. "Saudi Pak Tower is the World Trade Centre of Pakistan. Its security should be given vital importance to foil any suicidal attempt similar to the one that destroyed Marriott", he suggested. Commenting on the security threats to foreigners, especially Chinese nationals, he expressed his resolve not to be apprehended by any misadventure. "Such activities cannot detract us", he asserted Another foreigner hailing from Gulf also endorsed the statement that Saudi Pak Tower enjoys the same importance for Pakistan what World Trade Centre for US. It is hub of leading multinationals and investment, it should be given special importance, he observed "The greatest threat to the security comes from deadly attacks, this area should be  and must be focussed upon", he suggested It is worth mentioning that Saudi Pak Tower, ever since its construction in 1991, enjoys significant importance for Pakistan. The high-rise tower comprises 19 floors where more than a dozen multinational companies are operating, including European Companies, American TV channels and multinationals from Chinese and Middle Eastern region.
