100 suspects nabbed in Karachi raids

KARACHI - At least 100 suspects were nabbed in targeted operation continued in the city on Monday.
Pirabad Police claimed to have arrested an accused Shakeel aka Haddi involved in the murder of medicolegal officer of Qatar Hospital Dr Ifran Qurashi. 
Police on a tip off raided the house at Frontier Colony and arrested Shakeel allegedly involved in the murder of MLO Qatar hospital who was gunned down a couple of days ago in Orangi Town area. Pirabad Police SHO Abdul Moid said investigation to ascertain the motive behind the killing was underway.
In separate actions by Mangopir Police, some seven accused persons were arrested in different raids including the Lyari gangsters. Police said the accused were involved in extortion and kidnapping for ransom. Police recovered two trucks loaded with goods and weapons.
On the other side, Karachi Police claimed to have arrested over 50 criminals involved in various sorts of crimes.
Sindh Rangers have arrested at least 32 hardened criminals in various targeted operations conducted here on Monday.
Targeted raids were conducted in Muhammad Ilyas Goth, Jaffar-e-Tayyar Society, Muslimabad Colony, Landhi, North Nazimabad, Ahsanabad, Gaddap, Gulistan-e-Johar and Mazdoor Colony areas. Snap checking was also carried out in Machar Colony and MA Jinnah Road areas. At least 14 hardened criminals involved in heinous crimes have also been arrested. Rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons.
Other raids were carried out in Khadda Market, Lyari, Madina Town - Landhi, Safoora Chowrangi, Mehran Town, Korangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Ghazi Goth and Manghopir. Snap checking was carried out in Clifton, Hussainia Iranian Imambargah and Cattle Colony areas. During the above mentioned actions, 18 hardened criminals, including Lyari gangsters and criminals affiliated with political parties and defunct groups, involved in heinous crimes have also been arrested.
4 killed in violence
At least four people were killed in various violent incidents here on Monday.
Two people were killed and four others wounded in an incident of firing near Lal Mosque, Paposh Nagar. Police said some gunmen sprayed bullets on a high roof car. As result six people sustained bullet wounds who were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Doctors pronounced the death of two, including Mehtab, his cousin Adeeb and admitted rest of the victims namely Adeel, Mateen, Izhar and Sajjad for treatment.
Police on routine patrolling managed to arrest Haji Maroof, Tanvir and Farhan while one accused person Amir managed to escape. Police said it was a family dispute occurred on property.
A private TV channel driver was beaten to death during coverage of bus stand located within the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth police station. Police said the reporting team of a TV channel reached Super Highway near Al-Asif Square to record views of passengers over additional charges of tickets on the occasion of Eid.
The management of the intercity bus stand while trying to stop news channel team beat the team with batons. As result, the driver Gull Shair was wounded and died on the spot. Police rushed to the spot and arrested a bus driver Aimal and manager Nisar.    
Meanwhile, Pak Colony Police found a tortured body from the bridge of Lyari Expressway. Police shifted the body to morgue for identification after autopsy at Civil Hospital.
