Islamabad - The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced that repatriation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan under voluntary repatriation programme will temporarily remain suspended during Eid-ul-Azha.

A statement issued by the UNHCR said that all registered Afghan refugees holding Proof of registration Cards and are planning to return to Afghanistan from Pakistan under the UN program have been informed about the suspension of process.  ALL UNHCR Voluntary Return Centres (VRCs) closed on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. VRC, Chamkani in Peshawar and the VRC, Baleli in Quetta, Balochistan will remain closed from 14 October (Monday) till 19 October (Saturday).  The return process at the VRCs will resume on 20th October (Sunday) 2013.
