Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that the nation would have to swallow some bitter pills for making the economy stable and the country self-reliant economically and politically.

Talking to the party workers near Narowal, he said that the PML-N government was striving to combat all the crises it inherited from the previous rulers. He added that the PML-N was also curbing the menace of political and social deprivation and would bring the graph of price hike down through ensuring the early and smooth provision of all the basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps.

The federal minister said that the Pakistan Railways shed had become a graveyard of railway engines due to the mounted corruption of the PPP government and it should be a point of grave concern and an eye opener for everyone. Ahsan said that the country was facing several internal and external challenges, adding that that the people-friendly economic, political and social welfare policies of the PML-N government were bearing fruits.
