LAHORE - With Eidul Azha approaching fast (tomorrow), senior artists are still waiting for the stipend from Punjab government.

“No senior artist has been paid the monthly stipend so far while Eid is around the corner”, said A Nayyar, a popular singer while talking to The Nation.

He said artists were desperately waiting for the cheques to be delivered to them ahead of Eid, but there was no indication from the government so far to make the payment.  On behalf of artists’ community, Nayyar appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab to personally look into the matter.
