LAHORE - Punjab Minister for Health Khalil Tahir Sindhu on Monday said that consultation with Pakistan Medical Association would continue for health sector reforms and provision of best medical facilities to the patients at hospitals.

Talking to a PMA delegation that called on him at Civil Secretariat, he said that proposals of doctors for the betterment of health sector were of great value.

Secretary Health Hassan Iqbal, Special Secretary Health Babar Hayat Tarar, Additional Secretary Establishment Muhammad Khan Ranjha and Additional Secretary Development Ghulam Farid were also present. The delegation was headed by President PMA Punjab Dr Ashraf Nizami while its members included Dr Izhar Ch, Dr Tanvir, Dr Kamran Saeed, Dr Ibrar Ashraf and Dr Qazi Fayyaz.  The issues relating to promotions, transfer/posting of doctors of different cadres came under discussion during the meeting. The delegation presented various proposals for strengthening of primary healthcare system and promotion of medical education. Secretary Health informed the delegation that there are many promotion cadre posts of doctors lying vacant due to incomplete ACRs/documents. He advised them to submit complete ACRs and other documents to the Health Department for expediting promotion process.
